Valiants Boss Disappointed Following Dale Loss

Calvin Andrew’s headed goal with almost the last touch of the match condemned the Valiants to a sixth straight Sky Bet League One loss.
But Vale had matched their play-off challenging opponents every step of the way, frustrating Keith Hill’s side and limiting them to very few chances.
Speaking to Valiant Player after the contest, Page felt Vale were extremely unfortunate to leave Spotland Stadium with nothing to show for their efforts.
“It’s a bitter pill to swallow I’ve got to be honest,” he said. “We’ve come and give a level of performance and we didn’t deserve that at the end.
“There’s additional time been played on top of what was said, different answers when you ask the fourth official and referee and when things aren’t going your way, things aren’t going your way.
“That sums it up. There were 14 extra seconds added on. I feel when the corner comes in as we cleared it, it should have been the whistle blown but he allows it to carry on, they put the ball in the box and get the goal.
“The boys didn’t deserve that. For their performance today, they didn’t deserve to get beat one-nil.”
