DIRECTIONS:

Take the A50, A38 M1 north. Leave the M1 at junction 29 and take the A617 towards Chesterfield. At the end of the dual carriage way turn right onto the A61 towards Sheffield. At the first roundabout turn left and the stadium is down on the right.

 

WHERE TO PARK:

The club car park is for permit holders only. Street parking available on side roads off the Sheffield road. Beware of parking on the nearby Tesco store, as you may end up having your car towed away.

 

THE STADIUM:

Chesterfield’s 10,600 capacity all seater stadium is a mile and a half from the town centre. Along  one side is the Main HTM Products 2,902 seater stand., The players’ tunnel is at the centre of the stand, and the centre seating of the stand is the Directors’ Box, Sponsors’ and Legends’ seating areas, with the press seating  towards the North end wing section. Opposite is the Spencers Solicitors Stand, seating 3,144. It has glazed windshields on either side, Both ends are single tiered, covered and housing  over 2,000 supporters, the Karen Child  South Stand, for the home supporters, and the Rubicon Print Stand for away. Unlike the other stands the roofs on these ends are not curved, but again glass windshields are in place on both sides.

 

WHERE THE VALIANTS WILL BE SEATED:

Away supporters are mostly housed in the Rubicon Stand where up to 2,112 supporters can be seated. Additional seating can also be made available in the Midlands Spencers Solicitors Stand. The concourses are of a good standard with large flat screen televisions, showing Sky Sports.

 

DRINK:

Just across Sheffield Road is the Spirite pub which sells real ales and usually welcomes away supporters. Another close pub is the Derby Tup along Sheffield Road, which appears in the CAMRA Good  Beer Guide. Alcohol is served inside the ground -; draught Carling (£3.60), Worthington (£3..60), Magners Cider (£3.60) plus bottles of Budweiser (£3.60), and cans of Guinness (£3.60).

 

FOOD:

Food available from the kiosks in  the ground, includes the local  Jacksons Pies (Chicken Balti, Steak, Meat & Potato) & Sausage Rolls, Rollover Cheeseburgers , and Rollover Hot Dogs all about £3 ,50. Along Sheffield Road a five minute walk, is the Chinese/Fish & Chip shop on the way.  A little further on is the North Sea Fish and Chip shop. Under the stand where the away supporters’ coach parks is a community café, well received by some Vale fans on our last visit. There is also a KFC and Tesco behind the Stadium.
