We Take a look through the sides that we will come up against in League Two next season.
Who Are They?
Notts County Football Club are based in Nottingham and play their home games at Meadow Lane. Their nickname is “the Magpies”.
With records of games as early as 28 November 1862, Notts County are recognised as the oldest association football team in the world, now playing at a professional level.
In their trophy cabinet, County have an FA Cup dating back to 1981, and their most recent success came in the 2009/10 season when they won League Two and gained promotion to League 1.
How Did They Perform Last Year?
County finished a respectable 16th in the league table last season, after Kevin Nolan took charge in January. With a host of former Vale players, and with Nolan in his first full season in charge at Meadow Lane, they will be looking to push on in the coming campaign.
Our Last Meeting
The last meeting between the two teams came in the 2014/15 season at Meadow Hall. Vale ran out the winners as Mark Marshall’s 7-minute was enough to steal the points.
How To Get There?
The 1 hour and 11 minute journey will take you to the A50 via the A500. Once on the A50, you will take the A453 to get on the B679 in Nottingham. You will exit the B679 into the A46 at Newark. Then a succession of roundabouts will direct you to Meadow Lane.
Odds on Promotion
Notts County sit at fifth favourites to win the league at odds of 12/1, and sixth favourites for promotion at 3/1.
