Preview

Vale will hope to point an end to their seven games without a win with a victory against Swindon Town tomorrow. The Valiants are yet to win in 2018 and since the 4-0 victory against Luton Town in December.

Aspin’s men will also hope to bounce back from last week’s 5-1 defeat at Cheltenham Town where the opposition also failed to get a victory against Wycombe Wanderers.

Vale have seen a week rest after Tuesday night’s game against Exeter City was postponed.

The Opposition

The Robins are currently in search of a play-off place come end of the season and will want to continue their good form going into tomorrow’s tie.

After a series of mixed results in the last few weeks, Swindon remain in 6th place and five points outside the automatic promotion places.

They have found themselves unbeaten at home since Boxing Day last year where they suffered a 5-0 defeat to leaders, Luton Town.

One To Watch – Marc Richards

One name who may be familiar to Vale fans is former striker Marc Richards. The former fan favourite played at Vale Park for five years where he notched over 60 goals in 180 appearances.

After spending his youth career with Hednesford Town, the 35-year old began his illustrious career with Blackburn Rovers before playing across the Football League.

He has formerly featured for Swansea City, Barnsley, Chesterfield and Northampton before signing for Swindon where he has scored five goals in seven appearances so far this season.

Talk

David Flitcroft: “We have got to deal with the physical presence, I think Wycombe are probably a one-off team in terms what they have got with Akinfenwa so we play for a different game against Port Vale. We go again and move forward.”

Neil Aspin:Certainly, once we get a good performance and three points, it'll give the players belief, it'll give the supporters belief. Hopefully we can all pull together to get us to the necessary points we need.”

Team News

Luke Hannant could be on the cards for a starting place in Neil Aspin’s eleven after the midfielder was a doubt for the postponed Tuesday night fixture with Exeter City.

Kjell Knops and Adam Yates remain long-term casualties.

A return could be handed to Amine Lingazi for Swindon after a thigh issue. Chris Hussey, Donal McDermott and Dion Conroy are out through injury where Kellan Gordon remains suspended.
