Port Vale host Swindon Town in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday afternoon, and you can find all of the key information ahead of the game below...
Fixture: Port Vale vs Swindon Town
Date: Saturday 24th November 2018
Competition: Sky Bet League Two
Venue: Vale Park
Kick-Off: 3:00pm
Port Vale
Form: WLWWDWDLWL
League Position: 16th
Top Scorer: Tom Pope (8 goals)
The Valiants were unable to extend their unbeaten run to five games in Sky Bet League Two when they travelled to Mansfield Town last time out, with CJ Hamilton's first-half strike proving decisive at the One Call Stadium.
Despite defeat, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, and Neil Aspin will want his players to translate those elements into a solid display against Swindon.
Vale's home form has been fairly solid so far this season, and they will be looking to build on that with all three points on Saturday afternoon.
Manny Oyeleke will be unavailable for selection following his red card at Mansfield, and the midfielder will serve a one-game ban. The rest of the squad is available for selection, however.
Swindon Town
Form: LDWLDLWLWL
League Position: 18th
Top Scorer: Michael Doughty (5 goals)
Swindon have endured a disappointing start to the 2018/19 campaign and they currently lie 18th in Sky Bet League Two, with Phil Brown losing his job as manager due to the underwhelming nature of results.
Richie Wellens is now the man in charge of leading the Robins up the table, but it wasn't the ideal start for the new boss as he watched his newly inherited squad fall to a heavy home defeat against Carlisle United in their last fixture.
Leading goal scorer Michael Doughty is available again after injury and that will be a boost to Swindon's chances. Former Vale man Marc Richards is also in contention after recovering from a calf problem and a spell of illness. Toumani Diagouraga and Kaiyne Woolery will be sidelined for the fixture though.
One To Watch - Elijah Adebayo
Having joined Swindon on loan from Premier League Fulham in the summer, the 20-year-old striker has put in some impressive performances at the County Ground and he is the club's second highest scorer this season with four strikes.
At 6 feet 4 inches tall, he offers an aerial threat and his physicality can pose real problems for the opposition defences, but he is a player who also possesses great technical ability.
He is on a 10-game run without scoring in all competitions though, but he will be determined to put an end to that barren spell if he is selected on Saturday afternoon.
Talk
Neil Aspin: "I can't try to second guess what he (Richie Wellens) is going to do because I need to make sure our own team is right. However, like any other team in this division, Swindon are capable.
"Their results are mixed too, but having watched the game against Carlisle in which they lost 4-0, that wasn't a fair reflection on the game. I wouldn't read too much into that scoreline."
Martin Smith: “There is a new manager in charge now and all the players are buying into what he wants so we have to keep working and keep learning and putting it into our performance on Saturday.
“As a player, you have to be adaptable. It doesn’t matter where you are playing on the pitch, what the manager wants from you, you have got to give them.
“Whoever the manager is, you listen to what they want and you adapt your game.”
