'They have quality on the ball' says the skipper
Vale continue their festive games with a huge game against Rotherham United on Sunday afternoon (kick off 3.00pm) and skipper Doug Loft is expecting it to be one of the toughest games of the season so far.
Vale did the double over the Millers last season and the corresponding match at Vale Park is one the is still talked about in and around Burslem.
When Rotherham came to the potteries last season everybody was expecting a tight affair but that couldn’t have been further from the truth as Vale hit them for six.
Tom Pope was the hero of the day as he netted four goals against his former club, with Vale going on to win the game 6-2.
Loft knows tomorrow’s game is likely to be a much closer affair. He says: “We have got one of the biggest games of our season against Rotherham, so all of the boys are going to be pumped up for that and it is going to be a big game.
“They are a tricky side, they always work hard and they put you under pressure. They have got quality on the ball so we know what to expect.
“We always have good games against them and I always enjoy the games against them so it will be good.”
Steve Evans side come to Burslem in fine form and are currently riding high in the League One table. Make sure you don’t miss the game.
