We are pleased to announce that midfielder David Worrall and defender Leon Legge have agreed new deals with the club to extend their stay here to 2020.
After the announcement yesterday that John Askey had agreed a three-year deal with the club to remain as the First Team Manager, both Worrall and Legge have followed suit and committed to another year with the Vale.
Worrall joined the club at the start of the 2017/18 season having been recruited from Millwall by Michael Brown and has been a regular starter under Askey since his appointment.
With his future now sorted and a season to look forward to now at Port Vale under new ownership, Worrall's certainly looking forward to the campaign ahead.
"I'm really pleased to have been able to get this sorted and continue playing my football here. Since the gaffer came in he's given me a chance to prove myself and to play my football which is all I want to do.
"I've really enjoyed working under him, and with the new owners in now hopefully there are good times ahead for the club and I'm looking forward to being a part of it."
After joining from Cambridge United in the summer, Leon Legge has been a consistent performer in the heart of the defence for the Vale in his first season at the club, and has captained the side on numerous occasions.
He became instantly popular with the Vale faithful when he nodded home the winner at Gresty Road against Crewe Alex back in September. The wining header secured Vale's first away win since December 2017.
Pleased to see the club enter a new era under Carol and Kevin Shanahan with John Askey as the clubs First Team Manager, Leggey feels the future's bright for the Vale and wants to play his part.
"With the Shanahans taking over and Askey in charge, there's a lot to look forward to at Port Vale. It's really exciting times and I want to be a part of that.
"I can't wait to get back into the thick of things next month when we return for the summer and get prepared for the new season."
