In what will be their final home game of the season, Port Vale welcome struggling Macclesfield Town to Vale Park this Saturday, but can you remember what happened last time the two sides met?
You'd have to cast your mind back to December 22nd 2018 to relive last year's encounter with the Silkmen, in which Neil Aspin's Port Vale played out a goalless draw with Sol Campbell's Macclesfield.
In a game that was clearly a tale of two halves, the home side dominated the proceedings during the first 45 minutes. Scott Brown was on-hand on several occasions to deny the hearty Silkmen, including a magnificent reaction save from a close distance Ben Stephens strike.
However, following the break, Vale began to pick up the pace and for the first time in the game, threatened Kieran O'Hara in the Macc net.
Cristian Montano and Luke Hannant looked dangerous on either side as substitute, Scott Quigley, registered Vale's first real attempt on goal.
Taking hold inside the box, he wriggled free to fire a shot at goal and as it looked to bulge the back of the net, a slight deflection to the attempt wide.
In search of a goal, Ben Whitfield was introduced to the affair, but for all of Vale's pressing in the second half, the home side remained strong to maintain their clean sheet.
The stalemate ensured Macc extended their unbeaten run at home to three games, whereas Vale remained in 15th place on 28 points.
