Johnson Joins FC Halifax Town On Loan

Port Vale goalkeeper Sam Johnson has joined FC Halifax Town on loan.

The 22-year-old, who has come through the club’s Academy, will remain at the National League side until 2January.

Johnson has made 25 first team appearances for Vale since his debut against Walsall in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in October 2012.

He spent a short spell on loan at non-league outfit Alfreton last season.

Speaking about the keeper’s loan move, manager Rob Page said: “This is a great opportunity for Sam to go and play first team football week-in, week-out.

“We’re blessed at this football club with a crop of very talented goalkeepers and it’s important each of them can be given the chance to show what they can do by playing games.

“We feel this is the best possible way for Sam to continue his development.”

Everyone at the club would like to wish Sam the best of luck during his time at The Shay.
