Johnson & Lloyd Extend Loan Deals

Port Vale goalkeeper Sam Johnson and midfielder Ryan Lloyd have extended their loan deals at Halifax Town and Chester FC respectively.

The duo will remain at the National League sides until the end of April.

Since his move to the Shay Stadium, Johnson has made eight league appearances for Halifax, keeping three clean sheets.

Lloyd, meanwhile, has played seven league games for Chester, including in a 4-1 win over fellow loanee Nathan Smith’s Torquay United.

Speaking regarding these loan moves, manager Rob Page said: “Sam has been outstanding since he’s been at Halifax.

“It’s no coincidence since he’s been in that they’ve picked up some great results and some clean sheets.

“So for him, once again, he works hard during the week and now he’s getting his reward at the end of it by playing games so it’s definitely bringing him on.

He added: “The same can be said for Ryan Lloyd, he can play reserve team football but again it’s dropping down a couple of levels to go and play men’s football, like we’ve done with Nathan Smith.

“We feel that’s the best way to develop the young lads that have got potential.”
