Port Vale Carol Service

Yesterday the full first squad and the development squad joined in with the 'Port Vale Carol Service' alongside John Baskeyfield VC School, Moor Park Junior School and Jackfield Infants School.

The audience included Port Vale staff such as Manager Micky Adams, Chairman Norman Smurthwaite and Secretary Bill Lodey as well as all coaching staff and players.

The service highlighted the importance of being like the Christmas Star. The Christmas star was really special. It stood out! And unlike every other star it moved! The Christmas star is a message from the bible to stand out, look different and help other people to find and feel Christmas.

The service included a reading from Matthew 1:18:23. All three schools sang songs and Goalkeeper Sam Johnson joined in with the Christmas story cube. The story cube told the Nativity story in stages from the Shepherds in the field to the baby in the manger.

John Hibbert and Rev Ashley Coopers prayers included messages of thanks and prayers for the poor, to all the families in Burslem and Stoke and the people of Africa for sharing with us Nelson Mandela. “We thank you for his example of how to give and how to love.”

After the service the players signed autograph sheet for the children from the Schools and everybody came together to enjoy mince pies and refreshments.

We thank everybody for their attendance yesterday and look forward to the service next year.
