Michael Brown has praised the “amazing” away support which Port Vale took to Elland Road last night, as The Valiants bowed out of the Carabao Cup.
Over 500 fans followed The Valiants’ up north and showed their excellent support throughout the game, something the gaffer has praised.
He said: “They were amazing.
“Even at the end of the game, they were there to appreciate the lads’ efforts, even though it was a disappointing scoreline.
“I think they were first-class and to have that many here, after Saturday was amazing. We took that many to Crawley and we hope that it continues and hopefully, we can keep that happening.”
The gaffer sent a young squad to Elland Road, including Anton Forrester who has suffered with niggling injuries over the last few months.
“It’s great”, said Brown.
“The plan was 60 minutes [for Forrester], and we were bang on 60 just as they scored, which was unfortunate. Popey was just about to come on but it was great for Anton and I hope we can keep progressing him.
“Rekeil got a good run of minutes as well as Dan Turner which was important.
“They will get better and fitter.
