No Increase In Ticket Price On Match Day

Port Vale's home match day ticket prices will no longer be increased in the lead up to kick-off.

Previously, ticket prices had been raised by £3 three hours before each home game but that will not be the case from now on.

This includes Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Kevin Nugent’s Leyton Orient side at Vale Park, kick-off 3pm.

Speaking about the decision, Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite said: "The club has listened to the supporters and we have decided to fix the price of home match tickets.

“This was not a strategy to increase revenue for the club but to try and encourage fans to enter the ground earlier to reduce congestion prior to kick-off and relieve pressure on the ticket office ten minutes before the start of the game, causing frustration amongst fans unable to enter the ground in time for kick-off.

"We want as many fans at Vale Park as possible and for them to continue creating an atmosphere which will encourage the players on the pitch.

"We are all in this together - supporters, players and staff - so it is important that is reflected in the club's actions."
