The Vale have never been too far away from the top-seven this season, and Amoo admits that they need to add some consistency in order to keep up with the race for a top-seven place.
After a 1-0 win against Leyton Orient in their latest League Two encounter, the Vale now sit just four points off the top-seven and can move to within touching distance with a win over Swindon Town this weekend.
League Two is a highly competitive division where anyone can beat anyone says Amoo, and he emphasises the importance of performing at a high standard every week and not letting it drop.
However, with just one loss in five league games now, including three wins, John Askey's side are one of the in-form teams in the division, and Amoo emphasises that the quality is undoubtedly there.
“Everyone is fighting for lives and it’s such a competitive league, I think it’s just important to get a few wins under our belt and just keep that consistency and see where we end up.
“We’ve got a really good team, great balance of experience and young players and the attitude of the whole squad and team is a good one, I haven’t been in many changing rooms as good as this. We just need to add that consistency and hopefully we can get it done.
“It’s been great, I’ve really enjoyed it and I just want to continue and carry on working hard and help the team do the best we can."
The Vale winger has now found the net twice in his last four league games, earning four points in the process, and he emphasises that it’s good to be back amongst the goals.
Amoo admits that he had missed some good chances when going through a self-proclaimed dry spell, but he stresses that it was important to keep working hard and getting in the right positions to score.
The winger has had a good run in the side since joining in July 2019, and explains that he is focusing on one game at a time.
“I went through a little bit of a drought, little bit of a dry spell but it’s good in amongst the goals, get some important goals for us so it’s been better.
“I think every attacking player wants to get in amongst the goals, but it was important for me just to keep working had and try and get in the right positions.
“I missed a few chances but you’re going to miss chances and eventually the goals will come and that’s the most important thing.
“We’ve just got to take it game by game, I wouldn’t say I’ve come through anything it’s just about focusing on the next game and try and do well for the next game and continuing to do that, that’s my aim."
