Achille Campion Sets His Sights On Three Points

French Forward Gunning For Win At Glanford Park

Striker Achille Campion is determined to help Port Vale take all three points from Scunthorpe United on Tuesday night.

The Iron sit a place above the Valiants in the Sky Bet League One table and the 25-year-old believes that Rob Page's side can build upon Saturday’s draw with MK Dons and grab an important win.

“I think we want to go there for three points, we need the three points so that’s what we’re going for," he said.

“It was good to get a point [on Saturday], we worked hard for it and we could’ve got more, we could’ve got less, we got a point. It’s good but now let’s build on it and try and move forward.”

Campion's start on Saturday was his first since February when he played in the 3-1 defeat to Bristol City at Ashton Gate and the French striker was pleased with his performance against the Dons, but believes he can improve given time.

“It was a lot of physical effort. I’m happy and I think I did well but I know I can do a lot better so I need to keep it on going- it was a good first 90 minutes.

“I was very frustrated but that’s not the main subject at the moment, it is the football club. The focus is on Port Vale and Port Vale doing well and getting the points to safety, that’s all that matters.”

Campion also said he appreciated the support of  the fans for their support while he has been out of the side. He commented: “I thank them a lot because having the fans support is exceptional for your confidence. I’m really thankful.”

And, despite Vale’s recent run of form, Campion says confidence is still high. “We’re still good enough and the confidence is still there. Sometimes luck can swing a game so keep working hard and good things will come.”
