Players play as a reward for good behaviour.
Today Port Vale players Chris Robertson and Chris Lines attended James Bateman School to say congratulations.
The players were greeted by the Head boy, and 5 school pupils who were being rewarded for their improved attendance and behaviour so far this term.
Starting on the school's astro turf the footballers and children had a kick around. After posing for some pictures and having a chat about football they continued to play.
Robertson and Lines both played in goal at different times and Lines showed off his free-kick technique.
Amongst the Children was Jude, a big Port Vale fan. Jude was a mascot aged five, and after the group went inside, he showed Lines and Robertson his mascot pictures from the day. The players and children spoke about his memories of the day and signed some autographs.
Robertson, “It was nice to meet the children and have a kick around with them today.
“It's massively important that they continue the good behaviour at school and continue to work hard.
“I'm glad to be able to make their day!”
Lines, “Jude the Port Vale fan was wearing his Vale kit and it made me proud that we could go and meet him and the other Children today.
“I hope they all carry on with their good behaviour and that we can meet them again to say a big well done!”
