Port Vale are proud to be supporting "The 92 For Autism" and would like to wish Ian Barker and those taking part the best of luck, as they attempt visit all 92 football league clubs in just FOUR days at the end of the month.
In the hope to raise hundreds of pounds for The National Autism Society, Merryfields School in Newcastle and The Free Kicks Foundation, Ian and his four friends from Abbey Hulton will be driving over 2,500 miles to complete the challenge!
Ian was inspired to take on the task because of his nine-year-olds sons' school. Ian's son is autistic and says his school were a great help for him at a young age as he was non-verbal.
Speaking to the Sentinel he said: "I know other families go through similar things and have been helped a lot, so I just wanted to do something to give back to the school.
“Merryfields plan to use the money to develop their outside play area for the children to enjoy.
“That’s more than 100 children alone who will benefit from the fundraiser.
“We’re hoping to raise £5,000 and will split the donations three ways between the charities and the school.”
The four will kick start their journey at Vale Park on July 28th before venturing north. To donate to Ian’s cause, visit his GoFundMe page here.
Good luck guys!
