St. Luke’s Hospice have donated 600 gingerbread men to the Tony Naylor Legends game as the preparations for Sunday’s match are well underway.
The biscuits were given to the hospice by Roberts Bakery, based in Northwich, but Corporate and Community Fundraiser for St. Luke’s Hospice, Mark Porter, has in turn gifted them to Naylor.
The gingerbread men will be given away at the game between Vale legends and Crewe Alexandra legends for children to decorate in any way they decide, with the charity welcoming kind donations in return.
With only four days left, Naylor is excited about the event, he said: “I am hoping that it is similar to last season’s event, a bit of decent weather would be nice and I am just hoping that everyone that supported us last year comes out and does it again.
“I know it is really difficult because there is a lot of games going on. I just want everyone to come and support us, it is for charity after all.”
You can buy tickets for Sunday's Legends game from Port Vale's official ticket office or Crewe Alexandra.
