Here we take a look back at the 2015/16 season in numbers.
12 – The position the Club finished in the Sky Bet League One table. The Valiants improved on the previous campaign’s 18th place finish and on a few occasions flirted with the play-offs.
65 – The number of points we accumulated over the course of the season. The Club finished nine points off the play-offs and nine points above the relegation zone.
12 – The number of home wins Port Vale racked up in 2015/16. Only Gillingham, Bradford, Millwall, Burton and Wigan managed more.
13 – Ajay Leitch-Smith finished the season as the Club’s top scorer with 13 goals. Considering the striker took until November to open his account in Vale colours, that’s a mightily impressive total.
6 – Sam Foley came in first place on the Club’s assist table with six. The 29-year-old split his total between league (four) and cup (two) games.
52 – The number of appearances made by defender Richard Duffy this term. He finished the season as the player to feature most regularly in Rob Page’s starting line-up.
8,595 – The attendance at Port Vale’s final league match of the season was the Club’s largest of the entire campaign. Unfortunately, the 5-0 defeat to Walsall isn’t the result most of those supporters craved.
56 – The number of league goals scored by the Club during 2015/16. The four goals Vale netted against Rochdale in April were the most they managed in a single match.
7 – The number of cup games the Club were involved in this season. They played two in the Capital One Cup, two in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and three in the FA Cup.
