Earlier this week, Jesse Debrah and Kofi Balmer joined our Premier League No Room For Racism workshop at Co-op Academy Glebe.
Jesse and Kofi spoke about their experiences on and off the pitch in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
Lewis Cass and Ethan Chislett spent time at our PL Kicks Youth club to repeat the message that there is no room for racism. Anywhere.
Jesse Debrah "Yeah, we've been in the school talking about racism, racism in football as well and sharing experiences and stories with the children. This is a very important topic, not just in football, but in life, that doesn't always get spoken about. And it's important to not just sweep it under the carpet and address it. So we can move forward and move up as a society.
I feel like role models are important in life, period. But when it comes to topics like this, it's important to use your voice use your platform, to educate people on what's right, and what's wrong.
I enjoy listening to the children's answers to things. I feel like a lot of the time children give intelligent answers. And it's just been refreshing hearing them speak with their innocent answers.
It's always important to give back to your local community and stay in touch with them. I feel like you can always learn from anyone. And it's always important to share your experiences.
Lewis Cass "It's great for the kids to have role models because you start from a young age and then they grow up knowing exactly what they should do and it just spreads the word even better.
They know so much already. And you just added to that information really and just showing them if you've heard anything yourself or just sharing experiences, if they have anything and just it's good to link in with the kids".
