Port Vale Football Club is delighted to confirm that Dan Jones has signed a new two-year contract extension that will run until the summer of 2025.
The versatile defender joined the Vale in the summer of 2021 and helped the Valiants secure promotion from League Two in his first full season with the club before becoming a mainstay across the backline in the following campaign in League One.
A consistent performer, Jones deservedly received a number plaudits throughout the season including being voted as November's Reels in Motion Player of the Month before an unfortunate injury against Shrewsbury Town brought his season to a premature end.
Commenting on Dan Jones' two-year contract extension, Director of Football, David Flitcroft, said: "We are delighted that we have secured the services of Dan to stay at Vale Park for another two seasons.
"Whilst he has been at the club he has developed brilliantly as a player and a person and has become a trusted member of the squad.
"Technically, tactically and physically he has developed and all his stats and data are on an upward trajectory. He is one of the top performers physically at League One level and above.
"Following the freak injury he sustained at Shrewsbury, his absence was evident for the remainder of the season with our defensive XG conceded numbers impacted.
"Dan can play a number of positions and offers excellent versatility within our systems of play."
Port Vale manager, Andy Crosby said: "It's great to see that Dan has committed to Port Vale for another two seasons.
"I'm looking forward to seeing him further develop into a leader on and off the pitch within our group and him taking on added responsibility. He has the required attributes needed as we move forward and look to approach the new season as a stronger, more athletic side"
