With the Valiants away at Portsmouth this weekend, we have compiled a list of fixtures of local Non-League clubs - within a 10-mile radius from Vale Park - for supporters who are not making the trip to Fratton Park and looking for their football fix on Non-League Day!
- Non-League Day will take place on Saturday 25th March 2023
- Five teams within a 10-mile radius will be playing at home, with the Valiants away at Portsmouth in League One
- Saturday's clash at Pompey is available on iFollow the Vale in the UK & Worldwide, but if you're looking for football action locally, we have you covered with the below list of local Non-League fixtures
What originally started as a social media experiment in 2010 by James Doe, Non-League Day has now grown to become an annual part of the football calendar, backed by professional football clubs (and their supporters!), MPs, celebrities, media organisations, charities and most importantly the non-league clubs themselves.
Always scheduled to coincide with an international break, Non-League Day provides a platform for clubs to promote the importance of affordable volunteer-led community football while giving fans across the country the chance to show support for their local Non-League side.
The Valiants are in action 206 miles away from Vale Park as we take on Portsmouth at Fratton Park, but there is action closer to home if supporters are struggling to make the journey down to the south coast.
In the Northern Premier League West, second placed Leek Town play host to Witton Albion. Leek are 13 points behind league leaders Macclesfield FC but have played two games fewer, whilst Witton Albion are are a point behind the play off places and sit just a point behind Clitheroe in fifth. The Vale's Under 18s midfielder Rhys Walters could be in action for Leek too, having joined the Blues on loan last month.
Elsewhere in the league, Robin Van Der Laan’s Newcastle Town (15th) welcome City of Liverpool FC (13th) to the Lyme Valley Stadium.
Newcastle are only a point behind their visitors and will be looking to leapfrog them with a win on Saturday.
Kidsgrove Athletic (8th) and Hanley Town (16th) are both away on Non-League Day and will take on Prescot Cables (12th) and Trafford (7th) respectively.
Meanwhile, in the North West Counties First Division South, Alsager Town (17th) take on Barnton (14th) at Wood Park whilst Foley Meir (19th) face a tough task against fourth placed Sandbach United.
It's an away trip for Abbey Hulton United who are headed to Birkenhead-based Cammel Laird 1907 for their Non-League Day fixture.
And finally, in the Midland League Premier Division, Stone Old Alleynians (13th) host Darlaston Town 1874 (2nd) at King's Park
