Port Vale FC is delighted to announce that Tom Sang has agreed a two-year deal with The Valiants from 1st July, subject to EFL and FA approval.
The versatile midfielder becomes The Vale’s first summer signing, joining us from Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City upon the expiry of his contract.
Sang, 23, made his professional debut for Cheltenham Town in October 2020 before going on to make his Championship debut for The Bluebirds in March 2021 prior to spending the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Scottish Premiership outfit, St. Johnstone.
Talking about our first summer signing, Director of Football, David Flitcroft said:
“We have been chasing Tom’s signature since we knew we had secured our League One position and we are delighted that he has agreed to join us.
“Physically and athletically, we believe that Tom is already at Championship levels and he will add a different dimension to our midfield.
“We met at the start of the summer period; his honesty, hunger and desire to improve so he can reach the highest level possible was what stood out. His character and commitment will drive the players on the pitch and on the training ground.
“We are excited to bring Tom into the environment that is being created at the club and I believe he will flourish under Andy’s leadership and coaching team.”
Port Vale FC Manager, Andy Crosby, said:
“After speaking to Tom it’s clear to me that he has the hunger and determination needed to succeed and I look forward to seeing him grow on and off the pitch here at Vale Park.
“His versatility will give us options and his positivity and work ethic will ensure he beds in well with the squad.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Tom to the club.”
Subject to the approval of the FA and the EFL.
