Port Vale Football Club can confirm that Aidan Stone has left Vale Park to join Sky Bet League Two side, Notts County on a permanent transfer.
The goalkeeper joined the Valiants in June 2021 on an initial one-year deal and has featured 54 times in all competitions for the club and leaves with 19 clean sheets to his name.
Stone was part of the 2021/22 play-off winning side and made numerous key saves throughout that season and his heroics in the Penalty Shootout during the Semi-Final against Swindon Town will go down in Vale folklore.
Speaking about Aidan’s departure Director of Football, David Flitcroft said:
“We’d like to thank Aidan for the time he has spent at Vale Park and wish him nothing but success for the future.
“The move away from the club is ultimately what is best for him as he looks to fulfil his desire to compete for first-team football.
“He has been extremely professional throughout his time here and worked hard on his development behind the scenes to give himself the best chance of personal and team success.”
Aidan leaves with the best wishes of the club and him and his family are always welcome at Vale Park, we’d also like to thank him for his dedication to Port Vale.
