The Valiants were tested against Premier League opposition this afternoon
The Valiants took the lead on 21 minutes through Ellis Harrison. Great work from Funso Ojo who pushed through the Burnley defence in the penalty area and crossed the ball from the right to the back post to find the unmarked Harrison to head home.
Burnley scrappily levelled shortly into the second 35 with a close range finish following a goal mouth scramble.
The Clarets had an opening to turn the game on its head with a clean strike from 25-yards out but Connor Ripley did well to read it and claimed the ball excellently in his grasp.
In the final ten minutes of the second half Burnley took the lead. The hosts won the ball high up the pitch before a curled effort beat Ripley in goal.
The Clarets still had time to make it three. A low driven ball from the right found a Burnley striker in the area to tap the ball into the net.
The Valiants had chances to reduce the deficit. Following an Ojo freekick, the ball was cleared only as far as Mitchell Clark and his first time hit was tipped over the bar.
That corner was delivered into the box and dropped to Liam Brazier but his shot was dealt with by the Burnley keeper.
First team players that featured: Connor Ripley; Mitchell Clark, Lewis Cass, Nathan Smith, Dan Jones; Funso Ojo, Ben Garrity, Tom Sang; Ellis Harrison.

Talking about our second pre-season match, manager Andy Crosby said:
"Today has been another good experience for our players to come up against a quality Burnley side that won the Championship last season.
"More importantly, it has been another match where we have been able to get valuable minutes in the players’ legs and we have once again been able to see some of the under-16s in a match environment.
"We’d like to thank Burnley for hosting this afternoon’s games and wish them all the best for their Premier League campaign".
