Port Vale will join hosts Shrewsbury Town in a minute’s silence ahead of Saturday’s League One clash at Montgomery Waters Meadow, as players, staff, officials and supporters of both clubs unite to remember the many thousands of people who have lost their lives and the many others injured and affected by the devastating earthquake that hit both countries in the early hours of Monday morning. Players will also wear black armbands as a mark of respect.
The whole world has been moved by the heart-breaking scenes witnessed in Turkey and Syria, where over 19,000 people have been reported to have lost their lives and thousands more injured.
Through the EFL’s official charity partnership with the British Red Cross, the EFL is supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Appeal to help those impacted by the devastating earthquake.
