With our November fixtures now drawn to a close, the nominees are in for our November Reels In Motion Player of the Month, and you can cast your vote below now!
In November we took to the field five times, kicking the month off with a point away at Wycombe Wanderers, where James Wilson added to his tally for the season and Tom Conlon opened his account for the campaign.
We picked up four points in the league during November, ending the month sat in the top half of the Sky Bet League One table, with our latest league outing being a 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic at Vale Park.
November also saw us continue our run in the Papa Johns Trophy, advancing to the Round of 16 where we make the trip to the Peninsula Stadium to face Salford City, following our 2-1 win over Barnsley at Vale Park.
The Nominees:
Danny Butterworth
Our number 26 enjoyed a fruitful month in front of goal, continuing his impressive home scoring form, making it three games on the bounce at Vale Park in which he found the back of net. Butterworth’s most memorable moment of the month came against Charlton Athletic, when he scored the match winning goal in style, beating off three defenders before firing the ball across goal and into the bottom left corner.
Tom Conlon
The captain started the month in brilliant fashion, heading home our equaliser away at Wycombe Wanderers and grabbing his first goal of the season in the process. Conlon’s performance in the fixture also saw him win the supporters' Player of the Match award.
Dan Jones
Jones has been one of the standout performers so far this season, and once again carried on his form from the previous two months into November. Jones continued to show his versatility across the defensive line, with his most notable performance coming in the centre of the back three in our win over Charlton Athletic, where his solid display saw him scoop up the supporters' Player of the Match award.
David Worrall
David Worrall put his class on display last month, having a key impact on multiple fixtures, boosting his goal contributions in the process. Our number seven produced one of the passes of the season against Charlton Athletic, as his stunning long ball perfectly picked out Danny Butterworth for the match-winning goal. Worrall was once again involved in a stunning goal when we defeated Barnsley in the Papa Johns Trophy, netting his first goal of the season as he finished off a beautiful passing move.
