Port Vale Football Club is delighted to confirm that Jamie Proctor has put pen to paper on a new deal at Vale Park.
The 30-year-old will remain a Valiant as we head into the upcoming campaign, following his impressive debut season at Vale Park, where he played a key role in helping us to achieve promotion to Sky Bet League One.
Our number 13 ended the season with 13 goals last term, the most fruitful goal return of his career, and scooped up our Goal of the Season award for his sensational scissor-kick volley against Sutton United.
Proctor will continue to provide a wealth of experience to the other members of the squad, having played more than 370 senior games in his career, 220 of which have come in League One.
Proctor’s impressive displays across last season made him a fan favourite, and he was instrumental in important moments such as his late equaliser away at Tranmere Rovers and his 93rd minute winner against Leyton Orient.
Manager Darrell Clarke said: “Jamie had a tremendous season on the pitch last year, it was his best goals return of his career and he played plenty of minutes.
“He had one or two injury problems towards the back end of the season, but he never stopped putting his body on the line for the club so we’re looking forward to him getting as many games as he possibly can.
“He will also offer so much in helping the younger members of the squad, he’s a great leader in the changing room and I’m really pleased he’s decided to re-sign, especially after there were a lot of clubs interested in him.
“Jamie has played over 200 games of League One football, and you need that experience when going up a level.
“He’s a model professional who goes about his business very well, the lads look up to him in the changing room and he’s a fan favourite as well.”
