Port Vale Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of 28-year-old full-back Zak Mills on a free transfer.
Mills, who made 25 appearances for Oldham Athletic last season, can play at either right-back or left-back and can also play in a midfield role.
Mills started his senior career at Histon in 2010 before moving to Boston United in 2014.
After impressing at Boston for two years, he earnt himself an EFL move in 2016, moving to League Two side Grimsby Town, where he would play for two years.
Following his spell at Grimsby, he spent a season at Morecambe during the 2018-19 campaign, before a season at Oldham Athletic last term.
“He knows this level, and it gives us good competition for young James (Gibbons) who will need that,” said assistant manager Dave Kevan.
“He’s a good footballer and he likes to join in going forward, we’re looking forward to working with him.”
“He’s come in as a right-back first and foremost but if we need him to play in another position, he’ll be available for that role.”
Throughout his senior football career, Mills has made 312 appearances, scoring 14 goals in that time.
Mills has signed a one-year deal at Vale, keeping him tied to the club until June 2021.
