Port Vale have formed a new partnership with gaming giants Virtual Pro Gaming (VPG) in a bid to form the Club's first official eSports team.
VPG is home to hundreds of teams and thousand of eager Pro Clubs eSports gamers who live, eat and breath virtual football.
We are launching our official team so currently need a full 11-aside eSports team to play together as part of the 'Pro Clubs' mode on FIFA 18 - Goalkeeper, stalwart defender, tricky winger and an accomplished striker, the lot.
To trial for a position in Vale's virtual XI, supporters need to log on to the Port Vale eSports Facebook Page to register their interest ahead of a live trial game on Saturday January 13th 2018.
Once the squad is complete, the Vale eSports team will play fixtures on a regular basis with one match a week streamed live via the Club's official YouTube channel for free.
Port Vale Sales and Marketing Manager, Chris Turner said: "We are excited to become a part of this movement. eSports is an expanding market, and a market that we definitely want to be a part of.
"eSports is huge in Asia and it was not going to take long to travel over to us and we are eager to strike whilst the iron is hot and use this to our advantage.
"It is also a great way to involve our younger market more."
Vale fans will soon be able to follow the Club's eSports team on Twitter.
You can already follow VPG on Twitter at @OfficialVPG and on Facebook at Virtual Pro Gaming.
