It was mixed week for all of Port Vale’s loan players as none of their respective teams won, but there was some entertaining action available.
Harry Middleton was named on the bench for Halifax Town’s exhilarating 3-3 draw with Eastleigh on Saturday where both ‘keepers were sent off. A late equaliser from Halifax’s George Waring allowed an equal share of the points.
Luke Dennis’ Newcastle Town had to settle for a 0-0 draw with Alvechurch in the Evo-Stik South allowing Newcastle to stay in the top half of the table.
Elsewhere, Joe Slinn’s Stalybridge Celtic suffered a 2-1 loss to Blyth Spartans in the Buildbase FA Trophy where Slinn started in goal. The win allowed the Spartans to reach the first round of the trophy, despite Celtic’s heroic efforts.
Finally, Mike Calveley’s Leek Town game with AFC Stamford was postponed after a waterlogged pitch at Harrison Park.
