Michael Brown Talks Injuries

Despite coming away from Roots Hall with a big point this past weekend, it wasn’t all good news.

Vale lost winger Jerome Thomas and midfielder Danny Pugh during the first 50 minutes of the game.

The two injuries then added with losing Sebastien Amoros and Kiko during the week leading up to the game, meaning the injury list added up.

This means, Anthony de Freitas, Rigino Cicilia, Tyler Walker, Remie Streete, Kiko, Sebastien Amoros, Danny Pugh, Jerome Thomas and Chris Mbamba have all fallen to injuries within the past month.

Speaking of the injuries he’s picked up, Michael Brown joked: “We’ve got nine injuries now and we’ve only had four since Thursday so that isn’t to bad is it.

“Luck hasn’t been kind to us, we lost Kiko and Amoros during the week and then in the game we then lost Jerome and Danny Pugh; after 10 minutes he picked up the knock and limped through to half time but couldn’t carry on.”

The injuries in the game meant that youngster, Billy Reeves finally got to make his debut for Port Vale.

Billy came on early in the second half and impressed Michael Brown during his time in the game.

“With the injuries it meant a debut for Billy and he did ever so well.

“He has been on loan at different teams and we’ve watched him and he’s been progressing nicely and it was a big ask for him to come in, but he did great.”
