Following the conclusion of the Checkatrade Trophy Group draw yesterday afternoon, we now know who Vale will be coming up against this year.

Newcastle United Under-23’s completed Group D, which means they join ourselves, Oldham Athletic and Crewe Alexandra.

Michael Brown and his side will kick-off the competition away at Oldham Athletic, the week commencing the 28^th of August, away at Boundary Park.

Next up will see the Toon Army and their under-23 side heading to Vale Park the week commencing the 2^nd of October.

Finally, Crewe Alexandra will make the short trip back to Vale Park for the second time in just over two months, the week commencing the 6^th of November.
