Ryan Taylor Reflects On Huddersfield

Defender Ryan Taylor has praised the support that the Vale fans gave the team during the Huddersfield Town loss in the FA Cup last weekend.

Vale dropped out to the cup on Saturday after conceding a brace to midfielder Jack Payne, and then additional goals by Kasey Palmer and Harry Bunn, meaning they have failed to secure their Fourth Round spot.

But even with the fans pushing the team along throughout the 90 minutes, as Taylor mentioned in his interview after the final whistle, he feels that the side didn’t do them proud.

“In the end, it didn’t look like we did them proud,”

“The game plan was to stick to a frustrating afternoon for them but once the second goal went in, you could see some of the heads drop.

“It just became inevitable that number three was going to come.”

But the defender also praised the opposition, saying that they are Championship side with something to prove.

“They are a good side, they are a very good side,”

“They’ve proved that in the championship I mean they set out a stall early on in the Championship.

“They went away to Newcastle and beat Newcastle and they play some great football but we would have liked to do a bit better for the travelling fans for sure.”
