Leonardo Fasan was one of two deadline day transfers for Port Vale.
The Italian moved from Celtic to Vale a loan that will last to the end of the season and will hope to get some playing time under his belt.
Fasan spoke exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD about the move: “I am so happy to be here, it is a big opportunity to show people what I am capable of.”
The 23-year old had to wait until the dying moments of the transfer deadline day to seal his move to Burslem: “My agent told me that Port Vale were interested for a loan move, and from then I had to wait until the last minute to get everything finalised.”
He continued: “It was a bit stressful, having to sit and wait until the last minute. But as soon as everything was done I was so happy and could not wait to get here.”
Fasan already has a lot of experience under his belt after moving from his home country at just 16 years of age: “I started playing football at home in Italy and got a move to Udinese and their academy.
“When I was 16 I moved over to Celtic and graduated from their academy. For the past three and a half years I have been with the first team”, he added.
All three of Port Vale’s goalkeepers are in contention to start this coming Saturday against Peterborough, and Fasan will be hoping to make his mark on the team as quick as possible.
