The match is part of a double-header of send-off games that England will play before the Euros as Mark Sampson’s side will entertain Austria at MK Dons’ stadium:mk on Monday 10 April (7.45pm KO).

England’s most-capped player Fara Williams said: “It’s really important for our preparation for the Euros that we’re playing as many European teams as possible so we know what we might be facing come the summer.
“Italy always give us a good game and they’re definitely an up-and-coming side. We know how important this game will be for us in building up our support ahead of the Euros and we’ll want to put in a good performance in front of our home fans.
“In all my years as an England player we’ve never been to Port Vale so I’m really looking forward to playing at a new stadium and hopefully we’ll get a big crowd there.”
Colin Garlick, at Port Vale, said: “Port Vale Football Club is very much looking forward to hosting this Women’s International against Italy here at Vale Park in April.
“We know that this is a very important fixture for our national team as they prepare for the European Championship this summer. It is both a privilege and an honour for Port Vale to be hosting such a prestigious game.”
