Worrall Reflects on FA Cup Result

David Worrall has said that Port Vale must take the positives following The Valiants’ 1-1 draw with Yeovil Town.

A 90th minute equaliser from the Glovers’ Jordan Green ensured the FA Cup Second Round tie to be forced to a replay at Huish Park.

Despite Tom Pope taking the lead in the second-half, Vale will have to settle for a draw and a replay.

Talking to the media after the game, Worrall says that he is disappointed with the result but believes that his side must take the positives.

“It’s a tough result to take,” said the 27-year old.

“We have to take the positives as we are still in the draw. We need to go to Yeovil and win the game, whilst we await who we play in the next round.

With Port Vale and Yeovil Town both sharing the number 49 ball, Worrall admits that he would love to be drawn against his boyhood club of Manchester United to give them extra motivation for a victory.

He said: “I want a Manchester club.

“I’d love to get either one of them being from the area, but we need to beat Yeovil first because it’ll be a tough place but if we play like we did on Saturday, we could win the game.

The winger finished the 90 minutes against Yeovil as one of the better players on the pitch as he was pleased with his side’s performance in the second-half.

He said: “There were parts where we dominated.

“It’s good to play in, but when they get a goal - we just need to start to finish teams off and we need to help Popey out a bit more!

“We need a few more wins for our confidence to climb the table and get on a cup run.”
