Neil Aspin has shared his frustration after watching his Vale side concede a last-minute equaliser at home to Yeovil Town.
The Valiants now face a long trip to Somerset in an FA Cup Second Round Replay, but the manager insists his men should have held on for victory.
“It’s always disappointing when you concede in the 90th minute in a game you should’ve won,” said Aspin.
“We created enough chances to win, Yeovil have offered very little in terms of an attacking threat, so I’m extremely disappointed."
“We’ve got to take it one game at a time, nobody is going to give you anything in football and you’ve got to do it yourself.
“We had numerous chances to kill the game off and we haven’t done that, we need to be more ruthless in front of goal.”
Tom Pope did score his tenth goal of the season in all competitions, but Aspin wants to see more of his players getting on the scoresheet.
He said: “We haven’t got enough goal scorers in the team.
“We got into good positions where we should’ve pulled the trigger, but we didn’t and our decision making let us down.
“I’d much rather us have a go, even if you miss the target, so our decisions need to be better.
“We know where we are and what we’ve got to do ahead of Tuesday's match with Shrewsbury Town.”
