DIRECTIONS

Take M6(N) to J21A then join M62. Follow the Leeds signs onto M60 until reaching J18. Then take M66 leaving at Junction 3.

this road until you come to the junction with the A56 Manchester Road.  Take the left hand exit at the junction and continue along

At this T-junction turn right towards Bury. After passing the Swan & Cemetery pub, some playing fields and a couple of pubs turn just before the traffic lights into Gigg Lane for the ground.

Please note that Gigg Lane is normally closed on match days and the ground itself is not easily seen from the A56.

WHERE TO PARK

A car park at Holy Cross College on Wellington Road is available. There is plenty of street parking but note if they have a residents only scheme.

THE STADIUM The 1990's saw Gigg Lane become an all seater stadium with the last 'new' stand, the Cemetery End, completed in 1999.

Along one side is the Main Stand, which has raised seating accessed by a small set of steps. Part of the front has a small building with a number of windows running along the front of it almost at pitch level.

Opposite is the South Stand which is similar in design to the ends with a TV gantry suspended below its roof.

The single tiered stand curves round to join the Cemetery Road End, the corner housing the police control box and the electronic scoreboard.

TheCemetery End is a former terrace that has been demolished and replaced with a relatively new all seater stand.

This area holds 2,500 fans and is probably the best area within Gigg Lane to watch a game as there are no supporting pillars to hinder the view.  This stand extends around one corner to the South Stand and looks quite smart.

The end is covered and has good acoustics, meaning that even a few fans can really generate some noise.

WHERE THE VALIANTS WILL BE SEATED

it does not run the full width of the pitch, one side ending with the edge of the penalty area.  The Manchester Road End (Ratio Law Stand) is a covered stand; but

Over 2,000 supporters can be seated. Unfortunately there are a number of pillars across the stand.
