Defender, Sam Hart continued his run in the first team this past weekend, as he made his fourth consecutive start for Vale.
The defender has been playing in a more advanced position then he has been used to, playing on the left side of midfield.
But, Hart has been impressing since he began his run in the team and there was no change against MK Dons and he spoke to Valiant Player after the game.
He said: “It was a really important win for us, we were live on Sky and it was a big game and we hadn’t won away from home yet.
“To come here in front of a lot of people, and we showed them what we’ve got it . It wasn’t by far an easy game, but we dug in and got the three points.
“We’ve got a few tough games away from home coming up and to put that game against MK Dons into perspective, it was a big game for us and we can use that now going forward in the rest of the season.”
Hart played a vital role in the build-up to the Port Vale goal against the Dons, as his ball into the box was the one that troubled Lewington into handling the ball.
However, Sam continued to pressure the MK back four and he believes Vale could have had another penalty:
“I thought we could have had another goal later on, I thought it was a handball in the box for another penalty late on.
“It was a difficult game, we were penned in for the last 45 minute, so to come away with a 1-0 win is fantastic for the boys.”
