During the summer transfer window, Port Vale acquired the loan signing of striker Alex Jones from Birmingham City until January.
The striker came into the side and has made an immediate impact since making his Football League debut back in August.
Jones has scored six goals in ten appearances for Vale and is currently the clubs top scorer in all competitions.
His time with the Valiants has seen him learn a lot and despite playing out wide, he is progressing every day.
He said: “I’m learning more and more and everyone is helping me to find the best way of playing out wide and as long as I keep progressing and it will only help me and the team.”
A topic with the fans in recent weeks has been the future of the striker, with him set to depart Vale Park when his loan ends.
However, the striker isn’t focused on his future at the moment, but admits he would love to stay until the end of the season.
“My contract finishes at the end of the season but at the moment I’m just focused on playing for Port Vale and doing well for the team and myself.
“Hopefully we can sort something out and I can stay.
“I want to stay and I feel I’m improving more and I think me staying till the end of the season will only help.”
