Over 80 children aged between five and 13 participated in our October Half Term coaching courses run by the Club’s Foundation Trust.
The 3 programme, which included skills sessions, small matches, penalty shootout and crossbar challenge competitions, was very well received. There were awards for all who attended and individual prizes for the competition winners, presented by Port Vale mascot Boomer.
The Foundations Girls only day also helped kick start a new inclusive girls and women’s programme during the half term with first team defender Nathan Smith promoting the day.
The Foundation also ran a Goalkeeper specific day for young aspiring goalkeepers with first team goalkeeper Jack Alnwick making a guest appearance.
Foundation Manager Tom Sherratt commented: “It was fantastic to have such a high number of children taking part and hopefully the experience provided has shown the ambition we have to increase the number of young children participating in sport within our community.”
“The course was a huge success and we hope was beneficial to all who took part and they join us again during the next programme during the Christmas Break.”
