Andy Smith Talks Doncaster and Fleetwood

This past Tuesday night saw six changes made to the Port Vale side from the weekend game against Stevenage.

Miguel Santos, Sam Hart, Calvin Mac-Intosch, Anthony de Freitas, Quentin Pereira and Dan Turner came into the side.

It was some important minutes of first team football for some of the players, who had not received much action in recent weeks.

One man who made his first competitive start was young striker Dan Turner and the striker caught the eye of First Team Coach, Andy Smith.

He said: “I thought he done well he worked extremely hard and put himself about well.

“He didn’t get as much service as we wanted, but he did himself proud and put in a good performance.”

Another player who Smith was full of praise for was goalkeeper Miguel Santos, who came in for Jak Alnwick.

“We knew how good he was before he came in and we have two great goalkeepers here and his performance tonight showed why we bought him here.”

Attentions now turn to Fleetwood Town this weekend and Smith is anticipating a big game for Vale, as they look to get back into the top six.

“ It will be a big game for us as we want to get back into the top six.

“They’re a good side but if we play the way we can I’m sure we can get the three points.”
