Port Vale goalkeeper Jak Alnwick is shaving his beard off in a bid to raise awareness for testicular cancer.
The 23-year old has become known for his facial hair, but is prepared to lose it for a bigger cause.
It has been a number of years since Alnwick hasn’t had a beard, and the stopper spoke exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD about the occasion: “I’ve had it for a few years now. I think the last time I didn’t have one I’d be about 16, so I’m dreading it a little bit.
“It’s obviously a bad time to do it, around December, it’s going to be a bit cold. But its’ going to a good cause, and at the end of the day it’s something little to me and it’ll be giving something massive to someone and their family.”
Alnwick will be shaving his beard off on the 1st of December and will be fresh-faced for the run of fixtures leading up to Christmas.
