Take a look at what the midfielder had to say after the final whistle against Birmingham City.
In the defeat to Birmingham City last night, Sam Foley completed his first ninety minutes of the new 2016/17 League One season.
Sam has had a few knocks during the pre-season schedule, missing the game with Kidsgrove and suffering a cut to the head against Wolves.
However, Foley has put these behind him and he is now ready for the start of the season, against Bradford City.
The midfielder spoke to Valiant PlayerHD after the final whistle last night and talked through his thoughts on the game.
He said: “Obviously it was disappointing with the result, but overall we look at how we play and how we applied ourselves fitness wise and I think there are a lot of positives to take from the game.
“I was speaking to a few of the new lads before the game and they were asking what the difference is between Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Birmingham and the one thing I did say is that they are going to be a lot more physical and they proved that.
“The style of football that we play, we like to pass it around and for the individuals that we play against, a couple of them are going to try take a chance and take a couple of risks and that’s what Birmingham did they didn’t hold back and they flew into a couple of challenges.
“So to frustrate a team who are championship side like we did with our game we play then like I say that’s some positives.”
