Bruno Talks Improvement & Formations

Take a look at what the manager had to say following the clash with Wolves this past weekend.

This past weekend, Port Vale drew 0-0 with Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers at Vale Park.

The match was the fourth pre-season fixture of the schedule so far, as the Valiants continue to prepare for the start of the League One season.

During these matches, there have been different formations experimented by the manager, Bruno Ribeiro as he looks to see which one is the best fit for his side.

After the game on Saturday, Bruno commented on his thoughts of both formations ahead of the new campaign.

He said: “With the 4-3-3 we are more organised, but with 4-4-2, we have more freedom with the strikers.

“I will talk with my team and we will find out which is the best for the 6th of August, it is more important now that we keep working and improving.

“For me we weren’t organised before, but now I feel we are improving more and more and we are organised and the players need to just keep working.”

Also, during the game the latest recruit, Sebastien Amoros, made his non-competitive debut for the club as he was given some minutes against Wolves.

However, Ribeiro said that he expects Amoros to take some time to adapt to the English game, but doesn’t doubt the qualities he possesses.

He added: “Sebastien is a quality player, he is young and he will be good, but later on, he is one for the future.

“He needs to learn English football more and he is a good player and I’m happy with him too, he is still working and learning.”
