Carl Dickinson is expecting a similar type of encounter as Tuesday night’s clash with Millwall, when he leads the Valiants out at Bury on Saturday.
Vale go into the game at the JD Stadium looking to bounce back from their first home defeat of the season and the 28-year-old left back is expecting a tough game, especially as he comes up against former team mate, Tom Pope.
This will be the first time Pope will have faced his former side since leaving in the summer and speaking to Valiant PlayerHD, Dickinson admits that Bury will be looking to find him at every opportunity.
“They are going to work hard, get in people’s faces and they’re going to be delivering a lot of balls into the box, especially with Mr. Pope up front.
“He’s got off to a good start, he’s scored some goals already. We know what a threat he can be and it’s up to us to go there on Saturday and make sure we work hard ourselves, stop them from playing and stop them from getting balls in the box.”
