Ikpeazu & Andoh Hand Over Cheque To Royal Stoke Hospital

Port Vale stars Uche Ikpeazu and Enoch Andoh visited Royal Stoke Hospital on Tuesday to help deliver a cheque for the cardiology fund.

Over £400 was raised as part of National Obesity Awareness Week earlier this year and the money will go towards buying state-of-the-art equipment.

Independent Cambridge Weight Plan Consultants Dean Sidley, Emma Bryan and Jeff Dean, who visited Vale Park as part of the campaign, were also on hand to pass over the money.

The trio brought a Seca Medical Body Composition Scanner to the club in January as a number of players and coaches, as well as chairman Norman Smurthwaite, helped to raise the profile of the event.

Dean Sidley told port-vale.co.uk: “We raised an amazing sum of £402.5.

“Port Vale helped considerably when we came in at the start of the year and scanned several of the players and the chairman got involved and the lads from the training team.

“It was a wonderful day that gave us a lot of publicity and helped to contribute towards to the great sum that we have raised for the cardiology unit here at the hospital.

“Whatever they do with the money, it’s going to be contributing to the people of Stoke-on-Trent.”

Emma Robertson, the hospital’s Charity Deputy Manager, added: “We rely on our communities to support us so we really value the support that we get from Port Vale, who were fantastic at Christmas as well.

“So it’s great that we have their involvement, it’s really valuable for us.”
