Skipper sayd the fans can play their part against SHrewsbury on Saturday
Defender Carl Dickinson says the fans can play their part when the Vale take on Shrewsbury Town here on Saturday afternoon and although he can see why some supporters are a little unhappy at the moment, he has urged them to stick by the team.
He said: “I understand their frustrations, but we need their help as much as they need us to perform. We need them to come here, put on a really good atmosphere and get the place bouncing because it does help.
“It is still quite early on in the season and we have seen already this season, if you string two or three results together you are straight back up there, so keep believing in us.”

The Vale skipper said: “The table doesn’t lie. At the end of the day we are where we are because that’s where we deserve to be and I have said that before.
“We are on a little bit of a bad run, but we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We have to get ready for a big game here on Saturday and it is going to be another tough game.
“We know what we need to do this week to get ready for it and we need to come out fighting on Saturday and give it our all.
“I think we have got a really good squad. Things haven’t been going so well, but with this squad we’ve got, the top half of the table is where we should be.”
