Port Vale manager Rob Page has discussed the benefits of having his side’s FA Cup first round replay against Maidenhead United on TV.

BT Sport announced on Tuesday morning that the tie would be broadcast LIVE next Thursday evening with kick-off being at 7.45pm.

The winners will face Exeter City at St James’ Park in round two.

Speaking to port-vale.co.uk earlier, the Vale boss said it is good news for both sides that the game will be shown across the country.

“I think financially there’s a little bit of money to be had with being on TV,” he said.

“It’s not ideal with having a game the Saturday after but to have it televised for them as well, for Maidenhead it’s a fantastic opportunity for a club that have taken us to a draw and they thoroughly deserve their replay.

“So we’re going to have to make sure we go about our job and finish it off and do it properly.”
